A Long Weekend
Sorry for the lack of the posts of recently, cousins were down and I didn't get an opportunity to post anything, but the thinking didn't cease! Anyway tonight our youth group in church called SNYF- Sunday Night Youth Fellowship, started again! And it just got me thinking about how we endeavour to seek all the answers to our faith but in reality it can be broken down-God loved us and he wants to share that love with us all. Tonight I believed I witnessed that simplicity in worship, a group of believers just praising him with all that they had. On a side note, when I got home and was standing on the door step this dawned on me..

Inclusion or Exclusion?
So today I think I'm going to talk about my thoughts on 'inclusion and exclusion' or a better way of describing it might be our judgemental character, prejudice, even maybe our human nature? Recently I have witnessed a few events in which either of these things have happened, either someone has included or excluded a person from maybe a social group or even some sort of event. And this got me thinking... what had caused them to act the way in which they did? Their judgement; they had excluded or included that person based on whether or not that person possessed traits of which they deemed to be 'attractive, good or similar to theirs.'
But my next question is what does God say about judging others and because someone is different does that mean that they should be excluded? God says that everyone one of us is made in his image but that he has also made all of us individuals, we are all different but that each and everyone of us is made that way for a purpose. He tells us that 'we should love our neighbour' but not only that he says that 'we should honour one another above ourselves-Romans 12:10.
Then why do we judge people? Why do we stereotype? Because we are imperfect, we are all sinners and this is in our human nature, and instead of showing this love and compassion onto others we often are egotistic and place ourselves above others i.e we judge them and position them either has below or rarely above us. Either include or exclude. But has christians we should seek to share that love God showed us and obey his command of loving our neighbour. We should include. We should be that welcoming person, we should not judge on outward appearances, but rather we should accept people for who they are. So let me finish by challenging you to include everyone whether it be inviting them to events, letting them join in with your friend group or even by walking with them to the bus.
God did not comfort you so that you may be comforted, but so that you be comforter

Returning Routine?
Day two, school has officially started and the work begins from here. Summer has passed, but what about God? Today I have been thinking a lot about the importance we place on God within our everyday lives especially as routine has kicked in again, things in life; be it things like sport, school work, friends and hobbies can sometimes start to take number one priority. So in this world filled with corruption and sin how important is our God? We often try to answer this question with metaphor such as he is more important than the air we breath. But can we truly describe God's importance? I have thought and read up on this all day now and this is what I believe to be true.
The comparison of earthly objects to God can only be used to make God's importance in our lives comprehensible, in reality his importance is unimaginable. This is the case as we live in a broken world, it is not perfect and therefore no earthly object could never describe our Lord who is perfect and sovereign. It is unimaginable as we have no concept of this perfection as we have been born with this sin and live in this broken world.

The Start
So this is my new blog, in which I hope to post my thoughts, ideas and opinions on 'Jesusy Stuff'(what I call it!). I have attempted these blogs before but never had the dedication or will power to keep them going but this time-I hope- it will be different. I love to explore hard topics and think them through which probably is not the norm for a seventeen year old boy! But I guess as a christian we do stand out from the world! And if your reading this I hope you stick around and maybe read some of the stuff I have to say. I am going to try and keep my posts as short as possible, as I tend to rant! But we will see! Anyway, recently I have been thinking a lot about our relationship with God and how we as believers can sum it up, I thought this was quite good way of doing that,
Christian fundamentals run parallel to that of worldly relationships' We must talk, listen and understand that person as we must pray, listen and understand our Lord.
